This Sunday marks the end of the church year. December 1st is the first of Advent and the 1st of the New Year.
What do we usually do at the end of the year? We take stock. We reflect on all that has happened in the world, in our lives, and how we have grown and changed; or remained the same.
This Sunday we’ll explore the man behind the title – we’ll hold up the perfections and imperfections of King David and explore the sustaining nature of God’s love; not only with him as a person, but within the line of David for the next kingdom to come (wink wink nudge nudge).
And of course, we may wish to spend time reflecting on our own perfections and imperfections as well … and the sustaining nature of God’s love in our lives too. It will be our way of getting ready for the season of waiting, anticipation, and preparation.
